Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do you take walk-ins, or do I need an appointment?

Walk-ins are welcome at Future Care urgent care, so you can simply come in. If you would rather hold a time, same-day appointments are also available online through Zocdoc or by phone.

Urgent care handles non-life-threatening problems that need attention within about 24 hours, such as cuts that may need stitches, minor fractures and sprains, flu and colds, sore throats, ear infections, urinary tract infections, rashes, and dehydration.

Go straight to the emergency room or call 911 for life-threatening symptoms such as chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, signs of a stroke, or loss of consciousness. Urgent care is for problems that are serious but not life-threatening.

Our offices have on-site labs and diagnostics, including blood work, urinalysis, EKG, and rapid strep and flu testing, so many conditions can be evaluated and treated in a single visit.

Future Care accepts most major insurance plans, so for most patients an urgent care visit is a standard copay. Your exact cost depends on your plan, and if you do not have insurance you can contact the office to discuss self-pay options before your visit.

Future Care has five locations, in Forest Hills (Queens), the Bronx, Brooklyn, Baldwin on Long Island, and Hackensack, New Jersey.
